In the world of mathematics, it is often said that real success belongs to those who dare to meet challenges and persevere in the face of difficulties. Liu Yuzhuang, a student from Aberdeen's School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, participated in the National College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling. This achievement demonstrates her persistence in her academic pursuit and her determination to constantly surpass herself, inspiring her to continue on this path more firmly.
A passion for learning and exploration
For Liu Yuzhuang, the journey to explore the mysteries of mathematics began quietly long before the competition. "I have always loved to solve problems," Liu says. "The combination of math and programming has made me see the great charm of interdisciplinarity. Applying these to real life has helped me see the meaning of learning."
After entering Aberdeen College, Liu Yuzhuang began to explore the breadth of her studies. During this period, she learned about the National Mathematical Contest in Modeling for College students, a prestigious competition in the academic world. The competition brings together students from universities across the country to challenge them to solve complex real-world problems through mathematical models. Liu Yuzhuang saw in this competition a good opportunity to exercise herself and improve her ability.
Challenge mathematical modeling competition
Liu Yuzhuang and her team members put in a lot of effort to prepare for this competition. The competition requires participants to have a certain level of mathematical literacy and to work in teams to solve a variety of complex practical problems. In this process, Liu Yuzhuang, together with her team members, combines theoretical knowledge with practical application to build mathematical models to optimize methods for solving problems in the field of industrial production.
"The competition was very difficult," recalls Liu Yuzhuang, "We were faced with complex, open problems, not only to ensure the accuracy of the mathematical model, but also to consider the optimization of the model." Although we were confused, we never gave up because we know that as long as we persist, our efforts will yield results."
Through the use of optimization methods, statistical analysis and other mathematical principles, the team designed a mathematical model to solve the practical problem. This is not only a test of technical ability, but also an extremely high demand for innovative thinking and problem-solving ability.
Hard work pays off
After three days of hard work and challenges, the team's hard work finally ushered in the results. Liu Yuzhuang and her team members won the provincial third prize of the National Mathematical Contest in Modeling for College students with their outstanding performance. This award is not only a recognition of their individual abilities, but also reflects their teamwork spirit, rigorous analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
"We were thrilled to see the results," said Liu Yuzhuang, "We are very happy that our hard work has been properly reported." This experience has made me grow, especially the importance of teamwork, perseverance and translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications."
At the same time, this competition has had a profound impact on her academic development and personal growth. In addition to gaining a higher technical level, she also deeply felt the importance of teamwork and perseverance.
Looking to the future, Liu Yuzhuang hopes to continue to participate in various academic activities in university life. She said with confidence: "This competition is just a starting point, there are more challenges waiting for me in the future. I'm looking forward to this journey of opportunities."
