South China Normal University (SCNU) inaugurated its School of Business for Science and Technology on September 22 at the University Town Campus, the first school of its kind founded by a “Double First-Class” university in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The school and the School of Economics and Management follow an integrated “one administrative structure with two names” model. In line with national initiatives, it will build links between basic research, applied development and research commercialization, cultivating interdisciplinary talent skilled in technology, industry, capital, markets and management.
Wang Hengyin, Secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, said SCNU will further integrate science and business and connect innovation, industry, capital and talent chains.

On the same day, the Science and Technology Innovation Fund of South China Normal University was launched.

The SCNU Science and Technology Innovation Fund was launched on the same day, alongside the inaugural Greater Bay Area Forum on Frontiers of Science and Technology Business. Its four parallel sessions covered intelligent-era tech innovation and industrial growth, sci-tech business school development and talent cultivation, student entrepreneurship pitches, plus research commercialization pitches and resource matching.
Attendees included Liu Jianwen, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC SCNU Committee and Vice President, scholars from universities within and beyond Guangdong, and representatives of tech firms and financial institutions.
