The "2018 Joint Annual Conference of Physics Society in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (YGA2018)" took place at the University of Macau from July 26 to 29, 2018. This is the first time for the Physics Society from Guangdong, the Macao SAR, the Hong Kong SAR and the University of Macau and to jointly organize this annual conference. More than 350 experts and researchers from higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area and other places in mainland China as well as in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore participated in the meeting. This joint annual conference aims to gather researchers in all fields of physics as well as related disciplines, industries etc., and to provide opportunities for participants to exchange new developments in physics and making contact with each other.
Professor Wang Enke, president of South China Normal University, was invited to give an academic report entitled "Hard-wired probing signals and related progress of the new form of substance quark-gluon plasma". Academician Zhan Wenlong, associate dean of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Wang Enge, Peking University & the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Song Yonghua, Dean of the University of Macau, and Prof. Zhang Xiang, president of the University of Hong Kong, etc. delivered keynote speeches at the conference.

The School of Physics and Telecommunication Engineering, SCNU participated in the preparation of the conference as the vice chairman for the Physics Society of Guangdong and will organize of the 2018 Annual Conference of the Physics Society of Guangdong.
