South China Normal University (SCNU) and Xinjiang Normal University (XJNU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on June 15.
Yang Chengwei, vice president of SCNU, and Wang Shijie, vice president of XJNU, signed the agreement. Wang Hengyin and Jiang Haijun witnessed the signing.
Under the agreement, the two universities will cooperate on academic discipline construction, talent training, faculty exchange, scientific research, and resource sharing, with joint projects and paired discipline partnerships as the main forms of collaboration. After the signing, the two sides held in-depth discussions on building teacher education innovation platforms, keeping academic programs aligned with regional development demands, strengthening featured disciplines, and developing new doctoral programs.
Wang Hengyin, Secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, welcomed the XJNU delegation and gave an overview of SCNU’s history, scale, and current development. Wang said the agreement would put cooperation between the two universities on a comprehensive, in-depth, and that SCNU would work closely with XJNU to support the development of education in the new era.
Jiang Haijun, Secretary of the CPC XJNU Committee, noted that Xinjiang Normal University is a key provincial-level teacher education university within the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and said he hoped the partnership would deepen practical cooperation in faculty exchange and scientific research, jointly writing a new chapter in the high-quality development of teacher education.
