On April 10, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Institute of Global Teacher Development was held at Beijing Normal University (BNU).
Huang Xiaohua, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Teacher Education of the Ministry of Education, Wang Wei, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Teacher Development Foundation, Wang Ming, Vice President of BNU, as well as more than 70 participants from 22 branches of the Institute of Global Teacher Development and representatives from iFLYTEK attended the meeting. Chen Xiaofang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of South China Normal University (SCNU), attended the conference on behalf of SCNU.

The conference announced the member list of the management committee of the Institute of Global Teacher Development. As the only university in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, SCNU was elected as Deputy Director Unit. During the conference, participants reviewed the annual work priorities and management system documents, shared typical experience, and held group discussions on optimization of management system documents, implementation of national deployment and five topics.
SCNU served as the host and reporting unit of the Second Concurrent Session. Based on the governance mechanism of "extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits", SCNU exchanged views with the leaders and representatives from China Association of Higher Education, Shaanxi Normal University, and iFLYTEK on institutional documents, experience, and related practices.

SCNU's participation in this conference was a convincing example of actively serving the national opening-up in education, actively participating in the development of a new pattern for international exchange and cooperation, and effectively promoting such exchange and cooperation to develop in scale and system. As the Deputy Director Unit of the Institute of Global Teacher Development, SCNU will take this conference as an opportunity to advance the development of the European College of the Institute of Global Teacher Development.
