The 2025 International Education Fair was held on October 18 at the Foshan campus of South China Normal University, bringing together over 40 renowned universities and educational institutions from more than 10 countries worldwide. The fair provided students with a one-stop platform to engage directly with world-class universities and access authoritative information on further education.
The university is fully committed to developing the Foshan campus into an international education demonstration zone characterized by "new engineering, internationalization, and new business disciplines", Lin Jie, deputy director of the Foshan Campus Management Committee, said in his opening address. The event also plays a vital role in building an open and efficient international education exchange platform for the campus.
Zhang Changhai, Party secretary of the Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Zhang Yihua, Party secretary of the International Business College, shared their respective institutions' achievements and experiences in Sino-foreign cooperative education as representatives of the organizers. Liang Bing, director of Admissions at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, provided professional insights on global higher education trends and student development pathways.
Also at the opening ceremony, an awarding ceremony for "Overseas Higher Education Cooperation Partners" was held. The move aimed to further strengthen the cooperative foundation between the Foshan campus and overseas institutions and pave the way for deeper future collaboration.
Directed by the Nanhai District Education Bureau in Foshan and South China Normal University, the fair was once again jointly organized by the Aberdeen Institute and the International Business College at SCNU. It offered a variety of activities and resources, including themed presentations by overseas institutions, master's program admission interviews, study abroad consultation, specialized lectures, and parent forums.
Exhibiting institutions included prestigious overseas universities such as Johns Hopkins University, the University of Southern California, the University of Birmingham, the University of Sheffield, the Australian National University, and Singapore Management University, as well as Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions (programs) like Tsinghua University's Schwarzman College, New York University Shanghai, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. ETS (the official administrator of TOEFL and GRE exams), Pearson (PTE), and the official IELTS testing organization also established dedicated booths.
The exhibition atmosphere was vibrant, with large crowds of students and parents gathering at each booth. They engaged in conversations with admissions officers regarding program offerings, application requirements, scholarship policies, campus culture, and other topics. Additionally, a series of themed lectures were held on various topics ranging from a comprehensive overview of studying in the UK and US, global perspectives on higher education planning and family support, etc.
Now in its third year, the brand influence of the initiative has expanded to other campuses of the university and neighboring school district, demonstrating the new educational mechanism of university-local collaboration and resource sharing and further laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-caliber talents with an international perspective.
It is reported that nearly 100 students from the Shanwei campus joined to attend. Event information was also distributed to all high schools throughout the district by the Nanhai District Education Bureau.
