The president of South China Normal University (SCNU) Yang Zhongmin was invited to attend the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance Annual Meeting and Presidents Forum 2025 which took place at the University of Macau on July 11. He shared insights on how SCNU combines the strengths of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to build the cradles of teachers in the Greater Bay Area.

In his speech, Yang introduced the university’s efforts to strengthen Chinese teachers by instilling the educators’ spirit of nurturing the soul, and setting up a system that integrates pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school, and university, as well as pre-employment and post-employment education. He also shared SCNU’s practice to build platforms of teacher exchange, teacher development and research among universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
During his visit to Macau, Yang Zhongmin visited the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region and held talks with deputy director Lu Yuyin, reporting on the achievements made by the university in its 40 years of running schools in Macao and the next steps in its work.

Lu Yuyin fully affirmed SCNU’s achievements in supporting the development of teachers and improving the education level in Macao over the past 40 years. He hoped that SCNU would further leverage its advantages, continue to press ahead with its education, and play a greater role in teacher education, educational artificial intelligence, cultural heritage and innovation in Macao.
Yang also met with Gong Zhiming, director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao and had in-depth discussion on topics such as how artificial intelligence empowers education and how SCNU will further support the development of education by relying on its solid foundation in Macao. Besides, Yang visited the Macau Amateur Continuing Study Center and discussed with president Pei Chengxian the 40th anniversary celebration events and activities.

In addition, Yang was invited to attend the launch ceremony of artificial intelligence training for teachers organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao. This visit strengthened the connection between SCNU and relevant Macao institutions and laid a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation.
