SCNU held commencement ceremonies for the class of 2025 across four campuses from June 17-25, celebrating the graduates as they embark on a new journey with blessings from SCNU.
At the University Town campus, the ceremony kicked off the morning of June 17. Over 1,600 representatives of graduating students attended the ceremony in person, while more than 10,000 graduates followed the attendance in other branch venues.

SCNU president Yang Zhongmin congratulated on graduations of the 2025 graduates and gave his last lecture to students. He shared three hopes for the class of 2025: First, be a person with roots. He hoped that every student could devote to the motherland, and strive for excellence in their professions. Second, be a person with companions. Yang hoped that students would cherish the friendship they shared at SCNU and grow through cooperation, venturing into a bright future with those who shared similar goals. Lastly, be a person with light. Yang wished that students would explore the unknown boldly with innovative spirits.
Professor Lan Yaqian shares his story with SCNU.
Teacher representative professor Lan Yaqian, dean of the School of Chemistry, shared his own experience about making choices in teaching and research.. He said that choices should stem from their enthusiasm, a willingness to confront challenges, and a sense of responsibility. He encouraged students to see choices as engraving tools for their soul, carving into the ideal versions of themselves.
Tian Xuesong, alumni representative, expresses his expectations for the graduating students.
Tian Xuesong, a 2023 PhD graduate of the School of Information Technology in Education, spoke as the alumni representative. He encouraged students to persist in striving for excellence and innovation, align themselves with our country’s aspirations and trends of the times to build their core competencies.

Li Xi, a graduating student from the School of Marxism, recalled her four-year journey at SCNU, including her experience of teaching in underdeveloped regions. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to SCNU and its faculty. She also called on her peers to uphold the SCNU spirit and give back to their alma mater through future achievements.
During the ceremony, President Yang Zhongmin presented the 2025 Ten Best Academic Papers Awards to outstanding postgraduates and the Exemplary Student Award to the graduates from the outstanding undergraduate program. He also presented letters of appointment to newly appointed alumni liaison ambassadors.

After the ceremony, SCNU held degree conferring ceremonies at the Shipai campus, University Town campus, Nanhai campus, and Binhai campus, where the graduating students had their tassels turned and received their diplomas.
For the first time, students from four campuses jointly performed the original 2025 SCNU graduating song, “Amidst Blossoms We Meet” before the ceremony, wishing the graduating students a bright and blooming future.
