SCNU women's football team clinched its first-ever championship title at the 12th Guangdong University Games, marking the team's best performance in history.

The team defeated the team of Guangzhou Sport University 4-1 in a penalty shootout in the Women's Group B final on May 26. Despite falling behind during regular time, they quickly transitioned between attack and defense to equalize the score 1-1. In the penalty shootout, they managed to score three goals in one game, with the goalkeeper making three crucial saves, sealing a 4-1 victory.

At the 2025 Guangdong University Women's Football Championship, the team also delivered outstanding performances and brought home gold medal. Coaches including Liu Feizhen, Liu Yike, and Zhong Yuanjin were named "Outstanding Coach", while players Zhong Xiumei and Zhang Junyu received honors as "Top Scorer" and "Best Player" respectively.
