The 2025 Photocatalysis Symposium for Young and Middle-aged Scholars and the Annual Academic Conference of the Photocatalysis of the Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Imaging Science and Technology were held at SCNU from April 11 to 13. The symposium was hosted by the Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Imaging Science and Technology, and organized by SCNU.
Wang Chunchao delivers a welcoming speech.
Wang Chunchao, vice president of SCNU, delivered a welcoming speech, extending a warm welcome to the academic elites attending the symposium. He expressed the hope that the symposium would serve as a bond to build an innovative platform for cross-border integration, helping the field of photocatalysis break through bottlenecks and embark on a new journey.
Professor Zhang Tierui delivers the opening speech.
Professor Zhang Tierui, a researcher at the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered the opening speech. He emphasized that in the face of global energy and environmental challenges, photocatalytic science and technology form the strategic mission of the green transformation is of great significance for solving energy and environmental problems.
Four expert reports were presented by by Professor Tang Junwang from Tsinghua University, Professor Ma Ding from Peking University, Professor Liu Gang from the Institute of Metal Research, at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wang Dan from Shenzhen University. The reports provided a strong foundation for scientific theories and cutting-edge technologies aimed at fostering interdisciplinary integration and academic innovation.
The reports generated considerable discussion among participants.
During the symposium, a total of 200 academic reports were held at five parallel sessions, including latest scientific researches such as high-efficiency photocatalyst design, photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction, and key challenges such as catalyst stability and improvement of photo conversion efficiency.
During the closing ceremony, the symposium praised outstanding researchers in the field of photocatalysis who had demonstrated potential and excellent achievements. At the same time, the flag handover ceremony was completed, passing on the baton of academic inheritance, preparing for the next time to hold.
The forum awards prizes to the outstanding scholars.
The symposium attracted more than 400 colleagues, teachers, and students in the field of photocatalysis from across the country. It has become a high-quality platform for young scholars to present their work and exchange ideas, playing an important role in promoting advanced and meaningful academic exchange in the field of photocatalysis in China, as well as accelerating integration of industry, academia and research.
