SCNU teachers won two first prizes, two second prizes, and three third prizes in the finals of the 7th Guangdong Province University Teaching Competition for Young Teachers, which was held from November 22 to 23. Besides, SCNU has secured the award of outstanding organization.

The competition was divided into two categories: humanities and sciences. A total of 1,207 young teachers from 94 colleges in Guangdong province participated in the on-line competition rounds, and 210 candidates advanced to the finals. Based on a pre-selection, SCNU entered 14 young teachers for the on-line competition. After the qualification examination and evaluation by the committee, 7 contestants from our school ranked in the top 50% in the on-line competition round, and 4 of them were shortlisted for the finals. The finals consisted of three parts: firstly, the demonstration of teaching skills, secondly, keynote speeches, and thirdly an on-the-spot defense. SCNU teachers achieved excellent results with a wealth of specialist knowledge, exceptional teaching skills, and outstanding overall ability.
The Guangdong Province University Teaching Competition for Young Teachers has been held seven times since its inception in 2012. This year's competition was co-organized by the Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions and the Department of Education of Guangdong province.
