SCNU and the Industry Development and Promotion Center (IDPC), an organisation directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, signed a cooperation framework agreement on January 15.

During the signing ceremony, SCNU President Yang Zhongmin welcomed the delegation from IDPC and expressed gratitude for its ongoing support for SCNU development. He briefed the delegation on various aspects, including its contribution to national education especially in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Yang stated that with this agreement the cooperation between SCNU and IDPC starts a new chapter, building on a solid foundation and shared prospects. He hoped that both sides would conduct pioneering research jointly in key fields such as new materials, next-generation IT, and AI, with both giving full play to their respective strengths in platforms and resources. The two sides should strive to build a long-term cooperative relationship, ensure continuity and the high-quality of the cooperation.

Yu Tao, the director of IDPC, commended SCNU for its achievements. He pointed out that the in-depth integration of technological and industrial innovation is an important driving force for high-quality development, as China is at a pivotal time to advance new industrialization. SCNU, being one of the “Double First-Class” institutions, has a great potential in collaboration, particularly in physics, IT, and new materials.
Yu hoped that this agreement would serve as a model for a new form of mutually beneficial cooperation, fostering new drivers for high-quality development of the GBA manufacturing sector.

IDPC will deepen its cooperation with SCNU in strategy consultation, talent cultivation and exchange, and the application of scientific and technological achievements. Participants from two sides also exchanged ideas on facilitating implementation of the agreement. To set up a new example of cooperation between professional organizations managing science and technology projects and “Double First-Class” institutions, both sides will seize the partnership as an opportunity to carry out the agreement and nurture innovative talents.
