The 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia East Continent Final Contest took place from December 27 to 29, 2024, in Xi'an, with 280 top teams participating. A team from the School of Artificial Intelligence at SCNU, consisting of Gu Jiacheng, Huang Jiaxian, and Yuan Haoxuan, won the bronze award.

This is also the third time SCNU getting a medal at the ICPC Asia East Continent Final Contest. SCNU offers various related majors for cultivating talents, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. The School of Computer Science and the School of Artificial Intelligence have launched a new training camp of algorithms and program design for freshmen among the university in 2024 summer vacation. Also, trainings and matches on campus would be held in the middle of the semester and winter vacation for students in different grades and levels. Besides ICPC, SCNU students achieved remarkable scores in competitions such as the China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC), the Team Programming Ladder Contest, and the CCF-CSP Software Ability Certification.
The award ceremony announced the bronze medal winner from SCNU.
ICPC, known as the "Olympics of Computing", is one of the world’s premier programming contests, showcasing students' solid foundations in mathematics, computational theory, and programming practice. It has become a key platform for advancing computer science education and cultivating the next generation of leaders in IT.
