From November 22 to 25, SCNU hosted the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society for Aesthetics (CSA) and a seminar on “China’s path to modernization and the theoretical resources of modern Chinese aesthetics.” More than 260 experts and scholars from universities and institutions nationwide gathered to discuss cutting-edge issues in aesthetic research.

Focusing on China's path of modernization and the development of three major systems of Chinese aesthetics, the meeting explored the traditional theoretical resources of the development of Chinese modern aesthetics. Zhong Chengcai, deputy secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee and secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Gao Jianping, president of the CSA, and Ke Hanlin, president of the Guangdong Society for Aesthetics and dean of the School of Chinese Language & Literature, delivered speeches. Zhang Jiang, from the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a keynote speech.
