SCNUer Liang Weikeng and his partner Wang Chang won the gold medal in the men's doubles badminton finals at the 2024 Denmark Open on October 20. The win is an essential victory in the third badminton world tour they attended after the Paris Olympics. The competition was also the second time for China to clinch the men's doubles badminton in Denmark Open after 7 years.
In the final competition, Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang defeated the host pair Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen with a score of 2-0. They secured the victory with 21-18 and 21-17 points respectively, providing a fantastic badminton feast for the audience.
Liang Weikeng, a graduate student from School of Physical Education & Sports Sciences of SCNU, showed excellent technical skills and good athleticism in this competition. Liang’s powerful smash and Wang’s finesse at the net helped them take the crown.
