On September 2, Prof. Zhao Gansen was presented the 2024 "Ye Shengtao Teacher Award" by Cai Dafeng, chairman of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) Central Committee at the awards ceremony held in Beijing.

Zhao Gansen, a member of the CAPD Central Committee and professor of the School of Computer Science of SCNU, was awarded the title for his long devotion to teaching and great contributions to education. Only ten CAPD members received the award across the country.
The CAPD contributes to education and promotes the education reform and development, taking education as an important direction to fulfill its function as a political party. The award was named after Chinese educator and writer Ye Shengtao, who was also former chairman of CAPD Central Committee.
Established in 2023, the award is set up to honor the teacher members who enjoy a high social reputation and have made great contributions in the field of education, by setting a good example and stimulating the enthusiasm of the other teacher members. It is awarded annually to ten outstanding teachers who are CAPD members.
