Registration for new students at SCNU's four campuses starts on the same day on September 1, with 14,839 new students embarking on their new journey at the university.
SCNU, with campuses in Guangzhou, Foshan and Shanwei city, see enrollment of 5,677 and 5,719 students at Shipai campus and University Town campus respectively in Guangzhou, 1,748 students at Nanhai campus in Foshan and 1,685 students at Binhai campus in Shanwei.

Welcome boards were placed around the campuses, attracting new students who were eager to take photos and seize the exciting moment.
Various welcome activities were organized in different schools and special gifts were prepared for the new students.
School of law prepared some souvenirs for the freshmen, including a handbook covering all aspects of study and life which can help them better adapt to the new campus life.
School of Chemistry designed a “Dialogue with the Future” mailbox and “To My Future Self” letter paper, allowing new students to write down their feelings, goals and aspirations while at university. They then put the letters into the mailbox and promised not to open the mailbox until they graduate four years later.
The Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence welcomed new arrivals with gift packs. Beside customized bookmarks and fans, there was also an Aberdeen bear, in a limited edition style for this year.
Tan Jiahui, a freshman of School of Information Technology in Education, says that she has always wanted to become a good teacher ever since she was a child, and SCNU has always been her dream university. She hopes to learn professional knowledge and teacher training skills here.
Luo Kaiwei, a new postgraduate of School of Physical Education & Sports Science, says that he could feel the warm atmosphere here. He first came to SCNU when he participated in a championship during his undergraduate years. At that time, he was impressed by the SCNU teachers he met for their kindness and high professional level. Now he is very excited to be a SCNUer, and hopes to enrich his theoretical knowledge and achieve his life goal.
