On August 31, SCNU hosted the first "Global Youth Summit on Innovation and Development of Swimming Education" at its University Town campus, which brought together experts, scholars and outstanding swimmers at home and abroad to discuss the innovative paths and development of swimming education.

At the forum, experts shared advanced youth swimming education concepts from different countries and areas. Huang Bo, associate dean of the School of Physical Science & Sports Science, and director of the Guangdong Province Primary and Secondary Swimming Education Research Center, discussed the current state of youth swimming education in Guangdong Province. He highlighted the “teacher training & teaching outreach” model as an example and expressed hopes for its promotion in rural schools within Guangdong Province.
Wang Xueer awarded the title of "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Swimming Education Promotion Ambassador".
Olympic medalist Wang Xue'er, a student from the School of Physical Science & Sports Science of SCNU, was honored as the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Swimming Education Promotion Ambassador". She shared her competition experience and plans at the forum, emphasizing the importance of swimming as a self-rescue skill. This year, she won the third place in the women's 4x100m medley relay at the Paris Olympic Games.
The attending guests conduct an academic salon on the theme of swimming education for youth.
Liang Haoyu, section chief of the Bureau of Education of Yunfu municipality, introduced Yunfu’s distinctive swimming education model. He said that more than 150 core physical education teachers have been trained and more than 60 schools have conducted education on swimming across the city.
Organized by the School of Physical Science & Sports Science, the forum was attended by a large number of experts and scholars from the fields of education, public welfare, and academia, as well as swimming education volunteers. It was covered by various media, including Guangdong Radio and Television, Yangcheng Evening News and China City News, and received enthusiastic responses from all sides.
