The final rounds of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition 2024 (Guangdong division) were concluded on August 21 in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. SCNU won six gold and nine silver, as well as a collective award for the first time.
15 entries submitted by SCNU were shortlisted for the finals, hitting SCNU's record high and ranking top among colleges in Guangdong. The total number of projects registered in the province reached 450,700, and the number of participants reached 1,821,200. A total of 1,544 entries were qualified for the semi-finals of the provincial competition; 370 were shortlisted for the finals, which ultimately resulted in 135 gold awards and 235 silver awards.
Launched in 2015, the China International College Students' Innovation Competition was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education of China and 11 other ministries and commissions, as well as local provincial governments. It has become one of the most influential competitions covering all colleges and universities across the country. The national competition is expected to be held this October.
