On July 13, the Chinese delegation to the Paris Olympic Games was established in Beijing, and four athletes from SCNU were selected in the list. The delegation consists of 42 Olympic champions, and 223 athletes who will make their Olympic debut.
Of these Olympic athletes, four of them come from SCNU, namely, Wang Xueer (Swimming), Liang Weikeng (Badminton), Zeng Wenhui (Skateboarding), and Shen Shuangmei (Rowing). They will compete in 4 different sports events, facing off against some of the world's best athletes:
This year's Olympic Games will feature 32 sports, 45 disciplines, and 329 events. The Chinese delegation will participate in 30 sports, 42 disciplines, and 236 events, surpassing the number of participating sports, disciplines, and events from the previous Olympic Games.
Even though the total number of events at the Paris Olympic Games is 10 fewer than those at the Tokyo Olympic Games, the Chinese delegation has increased their participation in events by 11, making it the largest number of events participated in by a foreign delegation at any Olympic Games.
