Athletes from SCNU won 11 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze medals, and several team awards at the 4th Chinese University Wushu Long and Short Weapons Championship. Ten champion athletes of SCNU qualified for the Asian University Long and Short Weapons Championship.
Min Xiangcan, a 2022 traditional ethnic sports major graduate student of the School of Physical Education & Sports Science, said that she hoped to remain humble and peaceful after winning the championship and looked forward to longer-term goals. Chen Yue, a 2021 undergraduate student of the School of Law, said that victory was gratifying and even failure provided insightful reflections.

The competition attracted more than 1,000 athletes from more than 100 colleges and universities. It is by far the nation's largest wushu long and short weapons competition.
In recent years, the SCNU long and short weapons team has achieved good results in high-level competitions such as the intelligent Long and Short Weapons project (University Group) of the 9th World Kungfu Championships, the Chinese University Long and Short Weapons Championships, and the Guangdong University Wushu Long and Short Weapons Championships.
