SCNU performed best among all the participating universities in the Guangdong province at the "Guangdong-Macao Students Information Technology Innovation Competition 2024" held in Zhuhai from May 24-26.

SCNU sent 31 teams to participate in the competition, and they came out on top both in ranking and in the number of prizes. In total, SCNU won 7 first prizes, 13 second prizes, and 9 third prizes; two teams won excellence awards in the exhibition category.
The competition featured three categories: creation, practice, and exhibition, covering various fields such as digital creation, computational thinking, scientific and technological innovation, and intelligent robotics. The organizing committee of the competition recognized SCNU's teams for their literacy and skills in information technology innovation. They demonstrate SCNU's effort in cultivating scientific literacy, innovative thinking, and practical skills in pre-service teachers. Their achievements play an active exemplary role in leading the development of teacher training universities in Guangdong and contributes to the high-quality development of basic education in the province.

The competition was sponsored by the Department of Education of Guangdong province, the People's Government of the Zhuhai municipality, the Executive Committee of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Government of the Macao SAR. This year, the competition was set for students of education majors in universities and colleges, aiming to enhance the influence of these universities. It also helps lay a foundation for the high-quality training of teachers in primary and secondary schools in terms of scientific innovation.
