The 18th "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest concluded at Guizhou University on October 30. With all six entries winning the prize, SCNU's association total score ranked No.2 in Guangdong province, pocketing the National Victory Cup again.

SCNU teams won 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, and 1 Progressive Innovation Special Award in the finals. The Progressive Innovation Special Award was awarded to the team formed by SCNU students of the School of Information and Optoelectronic Science and Engineering. Their project focused on the transmission characteristics and potential application value of micro-nano wave.
Furthermore, SCNUers performed admirably in the special competitions of the 18th "Challenge Cup". A total of 9 entries were shortlisted for the Commander-in-Chief Special Competition, winning 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 1 third prize. In the Black Technology Special Competition Special Competition, SCNU teams received 1 constant star-level award (first prize), 1 planetary-level award (second prize), and 3 satellite-level awards (third prize). In addition, SCNU won 4 grand prizes, 8 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 4 third prizes in the "Red Practice" Special Competition, marking SCNU with the largest number of awards in Guangdong province.
The Challenge Cup is co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the National Federation of Students. The nationwide competition is known as an "Olympic" event for Chinese college students of academic science and technology.
SCNUers have achieved record highs in the "Challenge Cup" series of events in recent years, due to SCNU’s focus on cultivating students' inventive spirit, entrepreneurial awareness, and innovative entrepreneurial aptitude. This year, more than 2,800 students from SCNU, with 2478 works, participated in the "Challenge Cup".
