On May 28th, SCNU made a new breakthrough in the 17th "Challenge Cup" Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition Final, ranking No. 2 with 12 grand prizes, 9 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 5 third prizes.

At the opening ceremony, Huang Wenjing, a member of one of the finals teams of SCNU, delivered a report to share her team's project. The project focuses on the investigation of a specific path model, demonstrating how current innovation and entrepreneurship in education at liberal arts colleges in China improves their entrepreneurial capability. Besides, it also shows how the optimization emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship in the education of liberal arts college students helps them to start businesses.

The competition on the SCNU campus was launched in July 2022 with a total of 2,478 projects enlisted. After four rounds of evaluation, 31 outstanding works were selected to compete in the provincial competition. Then, 30 projects were awarded prizes, with 25 projects reaching the finals. The number of prizes and teams entering the finals ranked second in Guangdong province.
At the same time, SCNU has made full preparation with more than 60 polishing sessions for projects at both campus and college level. The teams polished the projects several times every week to prepare for the finals.
The 17th "Challenge Cup" Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition was organized by Sun Yat-sen University, in Guangzhou. Since its launch in March this year, 156 universities have participated in the competition, with 29,681 projects and nearly 170,000 participants in total.
In recent years, SCNU has made many great achievements in the "Challenge Cup" Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition. In 2019, SCNU won 8 grand prizes, 6 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 11 third prizes, ranking No. 4 in the 15th "Challenge Cup"; in 2021, SCNU won 11 grand prizes, 8 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 1 third prize, ranking No. 3 in the 16th "Challenge Cup".
