A delegation from the Australian National University (ANU) visited South China Normal University (SCNU) on 10 September to explore potential cooperation in student training and academic research.
The ANU delegation comprised Professor Sasha Mikheyev, Associate Dean (International) of the College of Science & Medicine; Dr Siva Karuturi, Associate Dean (International) of the College of Systems & Society; and Mr Arthur Xu, Deputy Manager of International Relations & Partnerships at ANU.
During the visit, representatives from ANU and SCNU’s School of International Business discussed the feasibility of a joint student training programme and the progress of the relevant agreement.

SCNU representatives exchanged views with the ANU delegation at the meeting.
Subsequently, representatives from SCNU’s School of Life Sciences, School of Chemistry and School of Computer Science held talks with the ANU side on prospective collaboration in biology, chemistry and computer science. Both sides shared insights on future cooperation areas and next steps.
SCNU and ANU will keep in close communication to push forward the proposed collaborative initiatives.
ANU is a research-intensive university located in Canberra and a member of Australia’s Group of Eight, a coalition of eight leading Australian universities.
