A delegation led by Yang Chengwei, vice president of SCNU, visited Belgium and the Netherlands from November 30 to December 5 to strengthen educational cooperation and exchange with universities in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The SCNU delegation visits University of Louvain.
During the visit to the University of Louvain (UCLouvain), the delegation met with Professor Agnès Guiderdoni, deputy vice-chancellor of UCLouvain, along with representatives from the International Office and the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts, and Letters. Yang Chengwei noted that the two universities have maintained stable cooperation and achieved remarkable results in French language education since 2016, with 27 students selected for exchange programs at UCLouvain.
He expressed hope to expand collaboration to more disciplines, student exchange, faculty visits and appointments, joint research, and teacher training. Both sides engaged in discussions on integrated bachelor's and master's programs, joint doctoral training, and research cooperation, achieving the intention of cooperation in biology, physics, and microelectronics.

The SCNU delegation visits the University of Groningen.
At the University of Groningen, the delegation visited the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials. Yang acknowledged the achievements in scientific research and joint student training between the two universities and expressed hope for future cooperation in physics, biology, and materials science, particularly in optical information physics and technology, and condensed matter physics. The delegation also visited laboratories in relevant fields.

The SCNU delegation visits Utrecht University.
During the visit to Utrecht University, the delegation visited the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science and held talks with Professor Alfons van Blaaderen and Professor Marjolein Dijkstra, both academicians of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, along with other representatives.
Professor Alfons van Blaaderen reviewed the development of the "South China Normal University–Utrecht University International Joint Laboratory for Soft Condensed Matter Physics," summarized the progress of bilateral research exchange, and expressed gratitude for the strong support from South China Normal University. Yang expressed the hope to deepen research cooperation in this field and jointly apply for and participate in research projects funded by the Chinese and Dutch governments.
