On November 10, Chen Xiaofang, deputy secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, received a delegation led by Mark Ogden, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Curtin University, Australia. Discussions focused on explore the potential for practical cooperation in Chinese-foreign cooperative education and scientific research.

Chen Xiaofang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Chen noted that South China Normal University and Curtin University have enjoyed 17 years of productive collaboration, with fruitful joint cultivation programs across multiple disciplines. He expressed hope to further deepen practical cooperation in areas such as Sino-foreign joint education and scientific research collaboration to jointly drive the high-quality development of both institutions.

Mark Ogden expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from SCNU and extended his sincere congratulations on SCNU's 92nd anniversary, which fell on November 6. He spoke highly of SCNU's remarkable achievements in enhancing its international influence and advancing teacher education. Building on the existing solid cooperation, he looked forward to broadening the scope and deepening the level of collaboration to take bilateral relations to new heights.

During the meeting, representatives from the School of Artificial Intelligence, the International Business College and the Aberdeen Institute at the Foshan campus introduced each school respectively, involving information on their scale, talent cultivation, and faculty resources. Both sides also held discussions on topics including Sino-foreign joint programs and cooperative education.
According to the official website of the university, Curtin University is one of the renowned and highly ranked research Universities in Australia located in Bentley, Perth, and is particularly renowned for its strengths in mining and petroleum engineering, health sciences, and business education.
