Two academic journals published by SCNU—Journal of South China Normal University (Social Science Edition) and Journal of Sports Science—have been included in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) Source Publications list for 2025–2026, according to a recent announcement by the Institute for Chinese Social Sciences and Research of Nanjing University.

This marks the 26th consecutive year that the Journal of SCNU (Social Science Edition) has been selected as a CSSCI source journal since the index was first established in 1999. The Journal of Sports Science has been included for the 20th consecutive year.

CSSCI, developed by Nanjing University, is a leading citation database for humanities and social sciences in China. It collects citation and publication information from selected journals and book series, aiming to support knowledge innovation, frontier assessment, comprehensive evaluation, and enhance the influence of Chinese scholarship in these fields.

The CSSCI data truly reflects the academic output and citation status of achievements in the field of Chinese humanities and social sciences, with journals and collected works as its carriers. CSSCI serves as an essential resource for universities, research institutes, and researchers engaged in academic publishing, performance assessment, and discipline development.
