Recently, Prof. Ye Qi, a new national talent recruited by the School of Mathematical Sciences of SCNU, and Prof. Xu Yuesheng from Sun Yat-Sen University, collaborated on a long article entitled “Generalized Mercer Kernels and Reproducing Kernel Banach Spaces” which was published in the internationally renowned academic journal “Memoirs of the American Mathematical Society” (https://www.ams.org/books/memo/1243/).
From the first draft to the official publication, it took the authors seven years to write the article, which has a length of 122 pages. This article extends and perfects the theory of the regenerative nuclear Banach space and proposes a new concept of the generalized Mercer kernel function. It also verifies the feasibility of the machine learning algorithm in the 1-mode regenerative kernel Banach space, and finds that many classical sparse fast algorithms can be combined with it. On the basis of this research, Professor Xu Yuesheng and ProfessorYe Qi jointly proposed the international original research field-sparse machine learning method, and combined with a supercomputer (Tianhe-2), to develop an intelligent method capable of analyzing large data of complex structure. Research results have been manifest in areas such as medical imaging, cancer data analysis, and educational big data.
"Memoirs of the American Mathematical Society" is an authoritative journal sponsored by the American Mathematical Society. Only high-quality original articles in the field of mathematics are published.
