Twenty SCNU scholars were included in the 2024 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List published by Elsevier recently. As a result, SCNU is ranked third among normal universities and 65th among all universities across the country.

The selected SCNU scholars cover 11 first-level disciplines in 5 subject categories, including 6 in Physics, 2 in Education, 2 in Physical Education, 2 in Chemistry, 2 in Environmental Science and Engineering, 1 in Psychology, 1 in Mathematics, 1 in Biology, 1 in Ecology, 1 in Foreign Languages and Literature, and 1 in Applied Economics.

The listed SCNU scholars are found in 11 first-level disciplines. 

According to the statistics, since Elsevier first released the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list in 2015, SCNU scholars have earned spots on the list consistently. The number of selected scholars has continued to grow year-on-year, with one additional scholar recognized in 2024 compared to 2023.

The number of SCNU scholars on the list increases continuously. 

The list identifies influential Chinese scholars across various disciplines globally by analyzing the research output of first and corresponding authors in Elsevier's Scopus database. It serves as a key metric to reflect the influence and the core competitiveness of research institutions and universities.
