A delegation from South China Normal University, led by its vice president Wang Chunchao, visited Maubere Lorosae da Silva Horta, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to China on January 23. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on cooperation in education and sci-tech fields.

Wang Chunchao introduced Maubere Lorosae da Silva Horta the university's histories, academic and research strengths, as well as faculty and staff resources, in particular the research achievements related to the disciplines of optical cognitive science, smart education, low-carbon environmental protection, new energy materials and technology, tourism culture.
Given the foundation of sound cooperation relationship with the National University of East Timor, SCNU would continue to give full play to its disciplinary advantages, build up closer relationships with other universities and research institutes in Timor-Leste and jointly promote technological innovation, Wang said.
Maubere Lorosae da Silva Horta spoke highly of the achievements in scientific research and education of SCNU. He also expressed his willingness to further promote cooperation in higher education and scientific and technological innovation between the two countries and hoped to work with SCNU to carry out projects that would deliver more substantive results.
Both sides also reached initial consensus on jointly training postgraduates, conducting academic exchanges and jointly building scientific research platforms.
