SCNU holds 2024 International Young Scholars Forum

2024 International Young Scholars Forum was held at SCNU on December 13. The forum aims to implement the strategy of invigorating university through talents and provide strong talent support for the high-quality development of SCNU.

Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC SCNU Committee, highlighted that SCNU attaches great importance to the introduction, cultivation and development of young talents. SCNU has long taken the strategy of invigorating the university through talents as a core strategy and has further reformed the systems and mechanisms for talent development to create a favorable environment for recognizing, caring, respecting, and employing talents. SCNU welcomes more aspiring young talents to join the big family and provides a platform for them to give full play to their talents in pursuit of their dreams, Wang said.

Yang Chengwei, vice president of SCNU, introduced the personnel reform and talent policy of the university. He emphasized that SCNU has built a talent attraction and training system and service system for their whole career cycle, providing personalized service and support measures for talents at different levels.

Talent representatives from the School of Life Sciences, the School of Mathematical Sciences, the School of Chemistry, the School of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering and the School of Education shared insights into talent development and their growth at SCNU. They also encouraged top young scholars abroad to come back and join forces with SCNU for shared progress.

26 sub-forums were organized in the afternoon. Deans and academic directors of each college and school introduced the overall situation of their school and  disciplines and together explored new ideas and measures to develop the quality of their schools through keynote speeches, academic discussions, and exchange.

The forum was held in hybrid fashion with both on-line and on-site participants. Nearly 800 young talents from 28 countries and regions worldwide participated, and more than 6,500 on-line viewers watched the livestream.
