Forty-one projects were approved by SCNU, ranking it twenty-first among national colleges and universities, fifth among teacher training colleges and second among universities in Guangdong province, according to the annual project list released by the National Social Science Foundation of China (NSSFC) on October 15.

For SCNU 27 annual projects were approved, including 3 key projects, 15 general projects and 9 youth projects. Among the single discipline education projects, SCNU had 14 projects approved, of which 7 national general projects and 4 national youth projects, 1 key project of Ministry of Education and 2 special projects of Ministry of Education, ranking third among universities nationwide. Besides, SCNU had 1 key project and 2 general projects approved by the National Social Science Foundation of the Chinese Academic Literature Translation Project this year. The results have reached the highest level in history, with a breakthrough in the approval for the Chinese Academic Translation Key Project of SCNU.
