Professor Xie Chengwang, dean of the School of Data Science & Engineering of SCNU, was awarded Distinguished Member of the 2024 China Computer Federation (CCF) recently. The award ceremony was held in Beijing.
Professor Xie Chengwang mainly engages in teaching and scientific research in the theory and application of intelligent computing and new software technology. He has led and participated in 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and nearly 10 provincial key research projects. Xie has also published more than 70 papers in major journals at home and abroad, obtained more than 20 national patents for inventions and software copyrights, and published 3 textbook monographs.
Besides, Xie has also led a team of teachers to actively engage in Government-Industry-University-Research Cooperation by utilizing his professional expertise. As the team leader, he has also led the team to obtain independent intellectual property rights in key technologies such as aero-engine and big data technology, and Wise Information Technology of med (WITMED), etc. As a team, they have also obtained 10 authorized national invention patents with high application.
Founded in 1962, the CCF is a national academy, an independent legal entity, and a member of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). A total of 360 experts and scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other renowned universities in China have been selected as Distinguished Members. This award is not only a recognition from the CCF platform, but also a high academic honor in the industry.
