On August 18, Wu Jian, vice president of SCNU and director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, witnessed the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between the Canadian International Educational Organization (CIEO) and University of Cambodia. This event took place at the invitation by CIEO. Wu Jian also met with Mr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN.

At the seminar, Wu Jian gave a general introduction to SCNU and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies. He said that SCNU has taken the initiative to become part of the national "Belt and Road" initiative, closely connected with Southeast Asia, and actively engaged itself in high-level exchanges with Southeast Asian countries. Besides, SCNU has worked to strengthen the cross-disciplinary integration, and pressed ahead with international and regional studies and talent cultivation in Southeast Asian. The Center for Southeast Asian Studies will advance research efforts and undertake cultivation of talents in this regard.
Kao Kim Hourn highly appreciated the achievements of the work of SCNU and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies. SCNU enjoys a geographic advantage of Southeast Asia and carries out practical cooperation with Southeast Asian countries in many fields and at various levels, he said. The international education cooperation will be fruitful and with positive prospects.
