Ong Tee Keat, former deputy speaker of Malaysia's lower house of parliament, and the president of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Caucus for the Asia Pacific, visited SCNU on November 16.

Wang Binwei, secretary of the CPC Committee of SCNU, expressed sincere greetings to Ong Tee Keat on behalf of SCNU. He hoped that SCNU can enhance the friendly cooperation with Malaysia in education, culture and other fields, and further contribute to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Ong spoke highly of the achievements of SCNU. He stated that Sino-Malaysian friendship enjoyed a long history, and the prospects of future cooperation under the BRI framework are broad. He expects that China and Malaysia may strengthen the cooperation in academic exchange, developing think tanks and scientific research, as well as promote mutual development within the framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia. He also hopes that the two sides enhance cultural and people-to-people exchange and cooperation between China and Malaysia, thus building bridges for information sharing and communication.
