SCNU has donated 4,000 face masks to New Era University College (NEUC) in Malaysia, which urgently needed the emergency supplies during the recent resurgence of Covid-19 cases.
China has reported no domestic cases since February 15. While COVID-19 has been effectively contained in China, many countries are still battling the coronavirus. In the face of the once-in-a-century pandemic, China has been working hard to promote international cooperation against COVID-19 and providing assistance to countries in need within its own capacity as Chinese president Xi Jinping calls on fighting COVID-19 through solidarity and cooperation, and building a global community of health for all.
New Era University College is one of SCNU’s friendly partner colleges and also hosts one of its overseas research bases. The two schools have been working closely in international exchange. Dr. Mok Soon Chong, vice-chancellor of NEUC, has attended the Southeast Asia Forum organized by SCNU for four consecutive years. In addition, New Era University College also lent a helping hand timely by donating thousands of masks to us during China’s peak of the pandemic.
Upon receiving the masks, NEUC expressed their heartfelt gratitude to us for our cross-border assistance. Dr. Mok Soon Chong wrote in the letter of thanks that their greatest motivation in the battle against the epidemic is our support. He also reiterated that NEUC will continue to promote exchange and cooperation with SCNU as well as strengthen communication and solidarity.
