An international symposium on the theme of "Literature and Culture Research Towards Media Integration" and the first International Forum were held at the University Town International Hotel of South China University of Technology on November 2, 2019.

It was hosted by the School of Chinese Language & Literature of SCNU, the Research Center for Aesthetic Culture and Critical Theory, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-border Cultural Research Center.
The symposium focused on media integration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Scholars from research agencies in the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Poland and from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, SCNU and so on attended the forum.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Duan Jifang, the president of the School of Chinese Language & Literature of SCNU attached great importance to literature and culture research towards media integration, saying more attention should be paid to this field.
During the symposium, scholars from home and abroad gave presented papers on the creation and development of theory on media integration, cross-media communication and mutual promotion of cultural development, transformation and integration of cross-media culture, etc.
During the review, professors' humorous and rational comments brought the symposium to a climax. Researcher Zhao Xifang drew up conclusions for this seminar.
The symposium contributed to new perspectives on literature and culture research towards media integration.
