On the morning of August 27, the Chinese education exchange delegation of the United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia (UCSCAM) visited SCNU and had in-depth discussions with relevant personnel of SCNU on holding short-term training courses for teachers' education in China, and offering postgraduate courses in Malaysia. Both sides reached preliminary consensus on overseas students’ recruitment, teacher education, professional training, etc.
The discussions were also attended by Hu Tingsheng, minister of the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department, Zhang Wei, dean of the Graduate School, Tan Weihong, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Mo Xunnan, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, Zuo Pengjun, dean of the College of the International Culture, Huang Daoming, deputy dean of the Department of Teacher Education, and Ke Sen, executive director of the Southeast Asian Studies Center.
The United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia (UCSCAM), also known as Dong Zong, was established on 22 August 1954. It is composed of the Malaysian state Chinese School Committes' Association and the Dongjiao Federation.
