In the new term, Joy, also known as Xu Liangxin, has become a class assistant as she wished. Seeing that the students in the Digital Economy Class 2 she is in charge of is becoming more and more united and gradually jointly set up the unique class album and class official account of their class, Joy has deep emotions.
Dream of becoming a Class Assistant
Two years ago, in the golden September, Joy, as a freshman of grade 2022, entered the campus with a longing for South China Normal University. Here, she met a person who had a great influence on her college life: a class assistant. That class assistant was both a good teacher and a helpful friend, and also became the goal that Joy initially strove for. During the daily interactions with the class assistant, Joy realized the importance of the role of a class assistant: for freshmen, class assistants can provide valuable help and guidance in study and life, and they are the most direct and reliable support. Today, two years later, Joy has also decided to become a class assistant. This is the inheritance of a sentiment and a way to contribute.
Campaign Preparation
Chances are always for those who are well prepared. When hearing the news of the class assistant election, Joy signed up and prepared actively and meticulously. Many student jobs that she tried at university gave her experience and confidence. Facing a 50% elimination rate, a mechanism of determining the list in one interview, and questions and answers that highly test the on-the-spot ability, Joy withstood the pressure and showed great enthusiasm in the interview. The interview process was very smooth. "From the freshman year to the junior year, I gained a sense of belonging to the college and the warmth and strength of interacting with people from student jobs. I have also met many excellent colleagues. This is upward socializing. So becoming a class assistant is a long-planned certainty. It is to keep chasing the light and becoming the light." Joy said with a smile.
Taste of Being a Class Assistant
For Joy, the feeling of being a class assistant is wonderful. This role is not just a senior student who is one or two years older than the freshmen. Instead, it is a partner who connects with class assistants and freshmen to build a united class from scratch. There are many moments that impressed Joy deeply, both sweet and bitter. When the class she is in charge of shared class stories with her, and when the class put the "star" image symbolizing her on the class uniform, Joy felt that she had become good friends with the students and was very happy. When she was on the verge of breakdown, she and her excellent "comrades-in-arms" would support each other and have a meal together after work. September was very tiring, but for Joy, it was all worthwhile. "For me, even though I know that there will be an extremely busy September after becoming a class assistant, I would still choose to be a class assistant even if I had to make the choice ten thousand times!"
Growth in University
At university, Joy has been constantly making progress. She practices what she said: "Only by experiencing many things can you know what they are really like." In terms of student jobs, whether it is a study committee member of the class, or from a department head in the student union to a member of the presidium, Joy has actively taken on these roles. Joy likes to interact with people because in this way, she can infect others with her enthusiasm, and at the same time, she can also harvest energy as warm as sunlight. Therefore, in her free time, she participated in the social practice activity of "Three Visits to the Countryside", and once served as the captain of the practice team in Taipan village, in Guizhou province. These left a deep impression on her, and she made precious friendships. For the Cantonese opera project, she presided over the innovation and entrepreneurship training program for undergraduates, studied the talent training courses of future educators at the university, and cultivated solid skills.
Moving Forward with Joy
Joy, just like her name, always has a smile on her face every day in South China Normal University. She said, "I'm growing." Every difficulty is overcome. Even though there are many obstacles, when looking back suddenly, she has already crossed thousands of mountains. When recalling, she still has a smile on her face. This is growth.
