Having spent a mere two months at SCNU, I find that every brick, every tile, and every corner of this institution whispers of its ninety-year journey. They tell tales of trials, triumphs, and the passage of time, and within them, I've already woven countless personal stories that tie me to this place.

During our military training, I was honored to receive my first certificate of merit at SCNU. Describing the intensity and challenges of this training isn't easy. We endured days under the scorching sun, our uniforms soaked with sweat. But it was within this crucible of heat and hard work that our unity was forged, strong and unyielding like steel. Our instructors, along with our senior students, became more than just guides; they were our comrades. Their unwavering support and care were our greatest comforts during those challenging days. Every piece of advice, every word of encouragement, pushed me to persevere, even when my body and spirit felt drained. Perhaps it was this relentless spirit and dedication that led me to be recognized as an "Outstanding Individual in Military Training." When I look back at those days, from our impressive performances to our meticulous attention to duties, I realize we gave everything our best shot, always striving for excellence. The warmth, love, and camaraderie I felt then, like a roaring fire, will forever light up my life's journey.

After the rigors of military training, my academic life at SCNU began in earnest. In one of my English classes, I delved deep into the meaning of the word "able." I came to understand that it signifies more than just the ability or capability; it also carries an essence of wisdom and insight. When I browse the English-Chinese dictionary, especially one designed for English majors, I'm often overwhelmed by the vastness of knowledge it represents. It makes me realize that the efforts of my high school years were just the beginning, the first steps into the vast ocean of knowledge that SCNU offers. Every time I pass by the statue of Confucius in the school, I am reminded of this saying: "A gentleman must be steadfast and persevering, especially when faced with significant responsibilities and long journeys." At SCNU, my thoughts and beliefs have been shaped and refined through countless interactions and challenges. While the quest for knowledge and answers can sometimes be long and arduous, what I gain in the end is not just information but a newfound strength in my way of thinking.

Before the Mid-Autumn Festival, a significant cultural event on our calendar, I had the opportunity to participate in my first interview at SCNU. During a cultural experience event themed "Welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival and Savoring Moon-cakes," I took on the role of a journalist. I interviewed two international students, and it was my first time doing so in English. Early into my SCNU journey, I recognized the diverse tapestry of talents and backgrounds that this institution houses. International students, with their unique perspectives and experiences, serve as invaluable bridges to understanding different cultures. The experience was nerve-wracking, but knowing that I was representing not just myself but also SCNU and, in a broader sense, China, filled me with a sense of purpose and confidence. While I faced challenges, especially with my English listening skills, I tackled them head-on, armed with a smile, and determination. With great anticipation for the upcoming "International Cultural Festival," my passion surged even higher.

After the festival, I was entrusted with the responsibility of hosting an event for the first time at SCNU. As a member of the Youth League Committee, I was chosen to be the host of two significant training events on October 15th. The weight of this responsibility was immense. Even with my previous hosting experiences, I felt the stress, especially given the scale and importance of these events. But every time I felt overwhelmed, I reminded myself of the bigger picture: I was representing the entire committee, contributing to the development of talent for our nation, and playing a part in the rich tapestry of events and experiences that SCNU offers. The preparation phase was not without its challenges. We faced numerous unexpected situations, but these only served to hone my adaptability and problem-solving skills. Seeing the dedication and commitment of my seniors, who often worked late into the night to ensure everything was perfect, was both humbling and inspiring. The event was demanding, but the growth, experience, and satisfaction I derived from it are beyond words. Overcoming challenges, adapting to new situations, and emerging stronger on the other side – these experiences have been instrumental in my personal growth, akin to a phoenix rising from its ashes, reborn and more radiant than before.

In the quiet of the evening, I often find solace in solitary walks through the West Field of SCNU. The tranquility of the night, the gentle rustling of the leaves, and the soft glow of the moonlight create a serene atmosphere. Here, amidst nature, every tree, and every leaf seems to have a story to tell. These walks are not just a time for reflection; they are moments of connection – with me myself, with nature, and with the rich history and legacy of SCNU. It's hard to believe that I've only spent a month here. In this short span, I've experienced the myriad facets of university life – the academic challenges, the joy of friendships, the thrill of new experiences, and the invaluable lessons from overcoming obstacles. I've come to realize that university life at SCNU is not just about academics; it's a holistic journey of personal and professional growth. I feel immense pride in being a part of SCNU and am grateful for the opportunities to learn and grow alongside some of the brightest minds. SCNU, with its rich history and legacy, has been a guiding force, providing me with wisdom, strength, and a sense of purpose. In its embrace, I find the space to grow, to dream, and to chase those dreams with passion and determination.

SCNU, in its ninetieth year, stands tall and proud, a testament to its rich legacy and the countless individuals who have contributed to its story. Over the decades, many luminaries have walked its halls, leaving behind tales of their achievements, dreams, and aspirations. As a newcomer, I, too, have dreams and aspirations. I hope to contribute to SCNU's legacy, to add my chapter to its illustrious story. I dream of a day when SCNU shines even brighter, its legacy further enriched by the contributions of its students and faculty. As the saying goes, "With determination and perseverance, every challenge can be overcome." With this belief, I look forward to joining hands with my peers, faculty, and the entire SCNU community as we march towards a brighter and more glorious future.
