Today marks the 25th China Journalists' Day! On this special occasion, we delve into the stories of SCNU journalists and gain insights into their understanding of their role as journalists.
Guo Xiangyu, alumnus of SCNU, serves as deputy director of the New Media Business Department at Guangdong reporter station of the China Media Group.

The most important job of a journalist is to get to the scene and report the truth. I still remember the moment I heard about the tunnel collapse incident in Zhuhai, Guangdong. I rushed to the site and climbed up the hillside to capture and report the situation without hesitation. Although reporting is often restricted by various conditions, journalists must be flexible and make the best use of the situation to break through these restrictions.

When we were covering the transformation of a power plant, the workers at the plant were worried that the media coverage would reinforce the public's stereotypes of coal-fired power plants, and were not very cooperative with us. I spent three months talking to them, listening to their concerns and showing my sincerity. Gradually, the workers began to open up and cooperate positively, which gave my report a sense of warmth to my report and suggested the voices of the workers and the pulse of the times.
Qiu Rourou, graduating student of SCNU, once worked as an intern at Baidu.

When I started my internship at Baidu, I was at a loss as to how to put my theoretical knowledge into practice. Challenged by the huge gap between work and knowledge, I learned data analysis and user research from scratch. By reading the company's knowledge-based articles, I gradually mastered the process of placing ads and working with advertisers.

Our voices are important. I think that this might be the reason why many journalists stand fast at their post. I remember being the leader of the video group and spending 60 hours a semester in meetings, video editing, and field research. Through journalism, I hope to record the world, experience extraordinary events, and speak out.
