With a peal of bell ringing out from the teaching building, students at SCNU finally finish their classes and walk out from the teaching building. Maybe it’s been a long day for them. Where will they head to relax? Just drop your work for a while and follow their steps!
"We always do some reading and eat some snacks near the arch bridge." two students from the College of International Culture say. If there is a most popular place award on the Shipai campus, the arch bridge must win the nomination. The arch bridge, also known as the ‘lover’s bridge’, is located on the east side of campus, lying across the lake.
The scenery around the lake is the most impressive part for Khetkhan Wanida, a student from Thailand. "I love to jog around the lake. Lush plants and the beautiful view drive my tiredness away" she says. Under the bridge, a cluster of lotus begin to bloom in early summer. When autumn arrives, flourishing kapok blossom on the trees near the lake, shaking against the wind in the cold days. Small as the lake is, it has always been an attractve place for students to enjoy the natural view.

Some students might prefer to enjoy a cup of coffee instead of siting in the sun. "What a beautifully decorated café!" Yang Kaiqing says, picking up the coffee and sipping joyfully. She majors in mathematics and often visits Lukin Coffee, a new café on the Shipai campus of SCNU. "Sometime I discuss my assignments with my classmates here, and often simple come for a cup of coffee and chatting with my friends." This café has gained many students' affection since its opening. It has a simple, but elegant decoration. The strong flavor of coffee beans will definitely wake you up when you walk into café. Indeed a cup of hot coffee can make your day.
Students enjoy their time in cafe
Meanwhile, the cinema named Mingde Hall on the Shipai campus will give you a different experience to relax mentally. "I’m a student at SCNU. I come here almost every week." Li Ruijia says. A group of movie-goers enjoy their time every Friday at the Mingde Hall. It is located on the first floor of the library. A movie of a particular theme will show here each Friday for free. When you walk into Mingde Hall, you will see dozens of rows of tidy seats and a large screen. It definitely will give you an entirely new understanding of the library.

"After the movie, we have a discussion together. I really like the discussion and the atmosphere here." Li Ruijia says. A teacher working in library suggested setting up the cinema in library to promote students’ communication and mutual learning through multimedia.
When the lights go out, the movie begins. Movies create another world for the audience. Walking into the hall and leaving the real world behind, students here try to connect with the world behind the screen. Three hours has passed as Li Ruijia walks out of the library. "How time flies! It’s getting dark now" she says, staring at the sunset over the library building and feeling relaxed totally.
