Chi Yukai, director of the Human Resource Management and Psychological Assessment Department of the School of Psychology of SCNU, has been devoted to teaching and research at the university for over two decades. "Share interesting and useful psychological knowledge"
"Hello everyone, I'm Mr. Chi, here to share some interesting and useful psychological knowledge with you." This is the opening line in each of Chi's videos. Chi, just like a caring elder, discusses topics that are of interest to young people, such as personal growth, romantic relationships, and trending movies from a psychological perspective.

In one of his early videos titled "Why are we so obsessed with animated characters?", Chi Yukai explained the affection people have for animated characters with the concept "para-social interaction", offering a rational explanation for this type of sentiment, which received many comments expressing agreement and empathy. Chi's respect for the anime culture, which is not mainstream and often misunderstood by parents in real life, has provided great support and warmth to the youth.
During the job-seeking season, Chi Yukai will focus on issues such as "anxiety in interviews", suggesting graduates keep a good image, get fully prepared, and stay confident. In videos, he vividly portrays the psychological activities of interviewers and interviewees, sharing practical interview tips and offering encouragement for graduates.
Chi's captivating lectures are not limited to those online. Seamless integration of research and popular science
"As a psychology teacher, it is my mission to popularize psychological knowledge," Chi Yukai believes that researchers shouldn't stay in the ivory tower, and research shouldn't be exclusive. With increasing means and channels of popularizing science, scholars should seize the opportunity to seamlessly integrate scientific research with popular science and make the public interested in psychology.
In the early stage of the Internet's development, Chi foresaw its potential in knowledge dissemination and took the lead in spreading psychological knowledge on Weibo, a large social media platform in China. He serialized articles on line and shared interesting and little-known facts about the history of psychology and the masters in humorous language. Chi recalls that the serialization was followed by many readers. One reader, in particular, printed and bound all his articles, which was more comprehensive than the final published work, touching him deeply and making him realize the significance and value of knowledge dissemination on line.
As short videos became popular, Chi Yukai was invited to join Bilibili in 2021. Chi knows that in addition to possessing professional academic knowledge, he also needs to focus on the hotspots on the Internet. Chi has a deep understanding of the real needs of young people. In his view, from the selection of topics to the comments and feedback on the videos, all promote his academic research to keep pace with the times.

"Psychology provides a unique perspective on problems, and if industries can apply psychological knowledge well, it will be helpful for personal development and interpersonal communication," Chi believes that in the education industry, to truly understand students from a psychological perspective is beneficial for teachers to do ideological work with students. This approach is equally applicable to human resource management, where psychological assessment would benefit talent selection and cultivation.
