The team of teachers from SCNU clinched one grand prize, one first prize, and one excellent prize in the 7th National University Blended Teaching Design Innovation Contest, which was held in Wuhan Hubei province from December 5 to 7.
The grand prize was received by the team led by associate researcher Wang Caijuan from the School of Life Sciences for its innovative blended teaching model. Wang and her team presented the Plant Physiology course by integrating AI and digital technology into educational reform practice. With that, the course established a blended teaching model featuring "the integration of botany and physiology through AI-empowered education", which stood out in the final contest and awarded the grand prize.

Starting from June, the 2025 contest has drawn extensive attention and participation from universities nationwide, with 535 universities participating, and 1,362 works from 499 universities entering the rematch. After evaluation, 82 courses from 77 universities were selected for the national final contest, including 72 undergraduate courses and 10 vocational courses, covering various majors of liberal arts and science. This contest selected 19 grand prizes, 133 first prizes, 205 second prizes, 274 third prizes, and 549 excellence prizes in total.
Besides, 20 universities were awarded the "Outstanding Organization Award" and 13 institutions received "Special Contribution Award". SCNU was among the list of winning both prizes.
Established in 2019 and organized by the Committee of the National Blended Teaching Design Innovation Contest and the China Education Society of Electronics, the contest has become one of the most influential teaching competitions for university teachers in the country.
In addition, it has also provided a platform for teachers to cultivate, communicate, and demonstrate blended teaching, leading and facilitating the reformation of blending teaching in universities and been included in data sources in the Analysis Report of the National College Teachers' Teaching Competition and the National College Teachers' Teaching Development Index of the China Association of Higher Education.
