On December 3, international students from South China Normal University won the third prize at the 2025 "Charming Guangdong, Living My Dream" International Students Gala. More than 300 international students from nine universities across the Guangdong province participated in the activity.
International students from SCNU presented a performance titled "The 15th National Game, Dance to Youth", combining traditional intangible cultural heritage elements with modern art forms.
The event was held at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and co-hosted by the Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association, the Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Guangdong Education Association for International Exchange.

Wu Weiguang delivers a recital with his heart.
Wu Weiguang, an international student at SCNU from Mauritius, performed in both a recital and a singing program. He followed his instructors' guidance and practiced intensively during rehearsals. "I focused on doing my part and delivering my best on stage," he said.

Cai Ailing plays the dagu (Chinese drum) during her performance.
Cai Ailing (Chinese name), an international student at SCNU from Indonesia, joined the dagu (Chinese drum) performance. She learned basic drumming techniques during rehearsals and performed on stage for the first time. She described the experience as an opportunity for cultural exchange and a deeper understanding of Chinese traditions.

Xie Ziying (Chinese name), an international student at SCNU from France, participated in the dragon dance performance during the gala. She received training in dragon dance techniques during rehearsals and performed with teammates from different countries. She said that the experience helped her better understand traditional Chinese culture.

Kevin, an international student at SCNU from Bolivia, took part in the lion dance performance for the first time. He trained with the team during rehearsals and took the stage to strong drum beats. “This experience was unforgettable for me,” he reflected.

Ya Ya (Chinese name), an international student at SCNU from Turkey, participated in the street basketball performance. He said that the performance embodied teamwork and confidence among participants. Through collaboration with students from different countries, he gained a deeper understanding of Lingnan culture.

Lisa, an international student at SCNU from Russia, performed the Yingge dance at the event. She said she was pleased to take part in the performance and to interact with students from different countries. She also expressed her appreciation for the opportunities provided by the university.
