The 2025 National University Faculty Teaching Development Conference was held in Beijing from November 7 to 9. At the meeting, South China Normal University, Peking University, Jilin University, Fudan University, Tianjin University and Xi’an Jiaotong University jointly launched the National University Faculty Teaching Development Alliance.
Vice president of SCNU Yang Chengwei, with leaders from the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Press, and the initiating universities, together kicked off the inauguration ceremony for the Alliance.

This year, a total of 20 faculty teaching development centers from universities were recognized as "National Exemplary Cases in University Faculty Teaching Development Work" after rigorous selection process. SCNU is the only university not from “Project 985” among the six alliance initiators, and the only teacher training university among the 20 national exemplary cases.

The Center for Faculty Development of SCNU has actively responded to the need for cultivating future teachers by taking the lead among national universities in offering the general education series titled "Intelligent Upgrade and Future Teaching: SCNU General Education Series on AI in Education".
During the report session, Hu Xiaoyong, director of the Center for Faculty Development at SCNU, presented a report titled "Enabling and Empowerment: AI Empowers New Quality for University Faculty". Hu also participated in the release of the Guidelines for the Boundaries of AI Application in Higher Education 2.0.
Next, the Center for Faculty Development at SCNU will seize this opportunity presented by the establishment of the National University Faculty Teaching Development Alliance and participate in the research of National Standards for the Construction of Faculty Development Centers among Universities.
Hosted by the Teacher Online Training Center of Higher Education Institutions and Peking University, the event brought togther over 600 participants including officials from the Ministry of Education and relevant education departments, leader, experts and scholars, as well as representatives in charge of affairs of faculty development from higher education institutions.
