The "Global Vision, Chinese Strength" Future Talent Program, jointly organized by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education and SCNU, kicked off at the School of Information Technology in Education at the Shipai campus on November 1.
On behalf of SCNU, Tan Weihong, director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, delivered a welcome address. Yu Changxue, director of the China Center, and professor Tshilidzi Marwala, rector of the United Nations University and UN Under-Secretary-General, delivered video addresses respectively. They encouraged young students to broaden their international horizons and grow into high-level talents with global competitiveness.
During the keynote session, four speakers shared their insights: Wang Zhijia on the core logic of global talent, Chen Rui on career advancement to international organizations, Liu Ruiyu on her experience as an intern project officer, and Qin Shaoyan on how such programs empower and transform students.
The event also featured the "Global Perspective Interactive Workshop," comprising modules designed to fast-track careers, academic development, and peer support. These sessions offered students diverse forms of guidance, including one-on-one resumé coaching, academic planning, international organization awareness, academic literacy enhancement, and internship experience sharing.
Centered on the theme "Global Vision, Chinese Strength: The Path to Cultivating High-Level Internationalized Talent," the event drew nearly 1,000 participants, including faculty and students from South China Normal University and other institutions across the province, joining both on campus and online.
