From October 23 to 29, SCNU organized 35 postgraduates of the "National Excellent K-12 Teachers Training Program" (abbreviated as “National Excellence Program”) to visit seven middle schools in Macao for educational internship activities.
Led by Fan Dongping, director of the Institute for Science, Technology and Society at SCNU, the students participated in the educational internship activities in the seven middle schools, namely, Pui Ching Middle School, Lao Hau High School, Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai, Hou Kong Middle School, Guang Da Middle School, Escola Sun Wah and Tong Nam School.

During the internship, students were introduced about the educational philosophies and characteristics of each school. For example, Hou Kong Middle School upholds the educational tradition of patriotism for the motherland and love for Macao, integrates national security education and citizenship education, and forms a talent cultivation system centered on cultural confidence. They were also encouraged to compare education in the two regions with an open mindset and to explore new paths for the collaborative development of education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

On top of that, activities such as classroom observation, teaching practice and cultural exchange were arranged to provide students' with an immersive learning environment. Through these immersive learning experiences, students not only gained a first-hand understanding of the diverse features and practical innovations of Macao’s education, but also accumulated valuable practical experience and reference materials for their subsequent educational internships and studies.
At the same time, students said they deeply realized the contemporary value of the development of the educational integration and the broad prospects of collaborative education between Guangdong and Macao; these experiences have also laid a solid foundation for them to grow into high-quality teachers with an international perspective in the future.
During their stay in Macao, the postgraduates also attended events such as the opening ceremony of the series of activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of SCNU's education in Macao and the ceremony for the conferment of postgraduate degrees in Macao, jointly witnessing the glorious achievements of the university's 40 years of educational journey in Macao.
