The inauguration ceremony and forum of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Primary & Secondary Schools STEAM Education was held at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on March 22. More than 180 STEAM education experts and scholars from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region gathered to witness this significant milestone.
The Alliance was jointly established by South China Normal University, EdUHK and the University of Macau to promote the development of STEAM education in the three regions. Professor Li Kedong from the School of Information Technology in Education of SCNU, together with EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin and dean of the Faculty of Education at the UM, Professor Fan Lianghuo, as well as representatives from universities and schools in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region attended the event.

During the opening ceremony, Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, alliance director May Cheng May-hung, and deputy directors Zhan Zehui and Wei Bing delivered speeches, outlining further plans and prospects for the alliance in integrating STEAM education resources across the three regions.
At the signing ceremony, professor Keith Ho Wing-kei of the EdUHK, Professor Ke Qingchao of SCNU, and Professor Fan Lianghuo signed the alliance cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective universities.

Following the inauguration, the Forum began, with professor Hu Weiping from Shaanxi Normal University and professor Luo Xingkai from Guangxi Normal University as keynote speakers. Various important topics were discussed in the special report session, including the review and outlook on popularising STEAM education, and the policies and practices of STEAM education. Professor Zhou Shaona and professor Zhong Baichang from SCNU, shared their insights and communicated with other experts from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The forum concluded with a roundtable discussion in which scholars explored opportunities for collaboration between universities and primary and secondary schools in STEAM education. They also expressed the views of latest developments and challenges in advancing regional STEAM education integration.
This event provided new perspectives and constructive suggestions for the coordinated development of STEAM education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region.
